It was only behind the facade of provincial America and the beautiful land that was hidden and something else. Something dark, ancient, experiencing weakness for creative personalities. Something related to the nightmares that torment Alan himself recently, and the darkness, frightening Alice. Something capable of bringing the spouses to the right place in order to make a story that will lead to such depths of the depths that the Kousto itself will be called. Something related to Alan’s next novel by the next novel, the pages of which will come across on our path in the vicinity of Bright Falls. In the end, the events that will be able to survive the writer himself will force him and revise his own life and views on creativity and even understand that sometimes the lake can be like the ocean.

The plot itself is good enough for me to avoid spoilers, because I will advise everyone to find out such a story personally, and not from a brief description or even notes from YouTube. Of course, the work is a very postmodernist, that is, filled with references, allusions and reminiscences from the heart, even the heroes themselves will not fail to notice that this or that circumstance refers to the “radiance” of King or other works of art. But still, the story itself is quite original and talentedly written by Sam Lake, and most of all resembles a high-quality mini-series. Even the game itself is divided into separate chapters-series, with the titles to the music at the end and “Earlier in Alan Wake” before the next chapter begins. And how local characters are written – just chic. I especially liked Barry – a literary agent and a friend of our hero, that’s who is a friend for centuries. And other characters from the sticky local psychologist, to the elderly rockers in insanity are very colorful and cause a lot of emotions.

And in general, this whole atmosphere of the mysterious story that takes place in the province, which gives either “secret materials” or lost, and the piquancy of color and “Twin Picks”, is so sincerely and okay that it only remains to be amazed at the skill of the scriptwriter. Maybe the game did not work on the sequel immediately after the release. But now, after more than a decade, the writer is finally close to his return.

All actors in the series are completely unfamiliar to me except Tom Nunan, but at the same time they play well, and they manage to create convincing heroes. Even budget shooting eventually gives such a semi -documentary charm that it only plays the atmosphere. And in general, he gives everything to some Lynchev’s motives, especially leading something from Twin Pixes, and surrendering to the most atmospheric film adaptations of King thrillers. At least a short film can be forgiven for many disadvantages that are in full meter. And if someone was happy to go through the game and does not mind for a short time to plunge into the atmosphere of light shizukha-welcome to Bright Falls.

So what can be said about the game in general. This is a magnificent work of interactive audiovisual art, filled with thoughts on the topic of creativity and personality, providing examples of sincere love and friendship, penetrating directly into your heart and warming soul. Perhaps this game is far from ideal as a game: it has a lot of disadvantages, rehearsal and prolonged walks through the forest, but, the darkness, the game ticked too well my zones of interest and ticked out of my personal cockroaches in my head.
